T-O Boys: Ardmore's Oaks Leads Field by 5 Strokes

What was a two-horse race entering Wednesday's third round of the Texas-Oklahoma Jr Golf Tournament Boys' Championship is now looking like a possible runaway.

Jacob Oaks of Ardmore, OK shot a 1-under 70 to go to 4-under-par 210 for the tournament, extending his lead over second-place Nolen Stratton of Austin.

Stratton, last year's T-O runner-up, had his second-straight over-par round with a +2 73 at Wichita Falls Country Club to fall to 1-over 215 through three rounds.

He is one shot ahead of Klein Klotz, also of Austin, who rebounded from a Tuesday 78 with the best round of the day, a 2-under 69 to get to +3 at 216.

Oaks, Stratton and Klotz will be the final pairing in Thursday's final round, teeing off at 9:40 a.m. from the first tee at the Champions' Course at Weeks Park.

Texoma players who made the cut and will play Thursday include Seymour's Matt Porter, tied for 10th at +14 (228), Iowa Park's Blake Posey, tied for 27th at +22 (236), and Frisco's Derrick Whitecotton, formerly of Electra, tied for 35th at +24 (238).

Also, Cullen Stahl of Lawton sits in a tie for 4th place with future MSU golfer Derek Oland at +8 (222).

Lawton's Weston Ward also made the final day with a +23 (237) through three rounds.
