Harvey House Sold To WF Family

The Harvey House property, once belonging to Midwestern State University, has now been sold.

Officials with the university confirm to Newschannel 6 the property in the 2700 block of Hamilton Blvd., a gift from Mrs. Nancy Dillard Harvey and the Harvey family, has been purchased by Mr. & Mrs. Mike Shallenberger of Wichita Falls. The property sold for a whopping $960,000. The sale included the home, property, and various pieces of equipment and furnishings, many of which were purchased by benefactors for the university's use in the Harvey House. A portion of the furnishing given to MSU by the Harvey family have been retained for use at the Museum of Art at MSU and Sikes House.

Board Chair Carol Gunn commenting on the sale, stating, "We are pleased with the sale of the property. The home was a generous and significant gift by the Harvey family, and we look forward to honoring them as the proceeds from the sale are used to support the educational mission of Midwestern State University."
