Fire Outbreak in Archer County - KAUZ-TV: Newschannel 6 Now | Wichita Falls, TX

Fire Outbreak in Archer County

Newschannel 6 was at Weeks Park about to shoot an interview when, there was smoke taking over the skies. The oldest division of the T.O. Junior Golf Tournament's final round was just about to finish, when gray and white smoke started spreading throughout the skies.

Newschannel 6 rushed over to the fire on Forcher Road and saw fire crews from Bowman, Scotland and Lakeside City trying to contain the fire. They said at the time it was about 40 to 50 acres. They were putting out the flames that continued rekindling through the tall grass with the winds that were not helping the area.

The roads Forcher and Fuller were blocked temporarily. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Firemen also told Newschannel 6 two homes were being monitored and if the fire came close. They would ask the residents to evacuate.
