Blacksox 18U Bats Catch Fire

In day two of the Cornelius Classic, the Burkburnett Blacksox 18U team trailed 6-2 early against the Ardmore Legion Cardinals, but the Blacksox exploded for 12 runs in the top of the third and fourth innings on the way to a 15-11 victory.

After some tough misplays in the bottom of the first and one run given up in the bottom of the second, the Blacksox bats started teeing off on Ardmore pitching in the top of the third. Hirschi's Joe Barron drove in a pair with a single to deep left field. Moments later, Keegan Harman smacked one into the gap in right-center field for another 2-run single to tie the game at 6-6.

The Cardinals regained the lead in the bottom half with a suicide squeeze play. Burkburnett answered by scoring eight runs in the top of the fourth. Rider's Kyler Ritchie drove in one of the runs.

Blacksox 17U dominates

The Blacksox 17U team scored 20 in both their games. Burkburnett topped North Texas Diablos 20-0 and the Fort Worth Monarchs 20-10. The team advances to the 18U Division Championship tomorrow afternoon at 1:30. The 18U team could earn the other finals spot with a win against the Oklahoma City Angels to conclude pool play at 9:00 a.m.

Blacksox 15U splits

The Blacksox 15U team split their pool play contests. They beat Fort Worth Monarchs 16-1, but then fell to the Woodard Travelers.
