Blacksox 18U Bats Catch Fire

In day two of the Cornelius Classic, the Burkburnett Blacksox 18U team trailed 6-2 early against the Ardmore Legion Cardinals, but the Blacksox exploded for 12 runs in the top of the third and fourth innings on the way to a 15-11 victory.

After some tough misplays in the bottom of the first and one run given up in the bottom of the second, the Blacksox bats started teeing off on Ardmore pitching in the top of the third. Hirschi's Joe Barron drove in a pair with a single to deep left field. Moments later, Keegan Harman smacked one into the gap in right-center field for another 2-run single to tie the game at 6-6.

The Cardinals regained the lead in the bottom half with a suicide squeeze play. Burkburnett answered by scoring eight runs in the top of the fourth. Rider's Kyler Ritchie drove in one of the runs.
