WFPD:Alcohol May Have Been Contributing Factor In Vehicle Accident

Officials now believe alcohol may have been a contributing factor to a late-night vehicle accident, leaving a driver recovering in the hospital.

It happened at 9 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Central Freeway Access Road and Old Iowa Park Road in front of a convenience store.

Police say the driver in a green van was traveling east while the driver in a Chevy Cavalier was west bound on Old Iowa Park Road. One of the vehicles was turning into the convenience store when they collided.

The driver of the Cavalier was taken to United Regional Hospital.

No arrests were made.

The official cause of the collision is still under investigation.
