DPS Issues Travel Advisory

The Texas Department of Public Safety and the Webb County Sheriff's office have issued a travel  warning for people to stay away from the Mexican border town Nuevo Laredo because they believe tourists may becoming drug-cartel crime victims.

DPS Director Steven C. McCraw said, "We urge U.S. citizens to avoid travel to Nuevo Laredo this weekend if it can be avoided."

McCraw says according to information they obtained, dangers include robberies, car jackings, and extortions aimed at U.S. citizens.
