Wichita County Commissioners Look To Ratify Fireworks Ban

Wichita County Commissioners banned the sale, possession and use of fireworks in the county. On Tuesday they will ratify that ban in a Special Session. However, that doesn't mean that the fireworks ban is not in effect for the 4th of July in Wichita County.

Texas Governor Rick Perry approved the Disaster Declaration that Commissioners approved that included the current fireworks ban. By doing so the fireworks ban is in effect. On Tuesday county officials will officially sign the ban. It is in effect and will be enforced by police and the Wichita County Sheriff's Office.
