Bowie's Fire Department Welcomes New Rescue Truck

Bowie's Fire Department has a new rescue/grass truck.

The truck will allow the department to have two fully equipped trucks available for use. The new truck has a 500 gallon tank, which is nearly twice the size of the old truck, it's replacing.

The truck was funded by a $155,000 Texas Forest Service Grant, with the city funding the remainder $172,222.

The new rescue unit has roll up storage doors on its side with rollout shelving that contains all the rescue equipment. They can be accessed from either side of the truck.

LED lighting outlines the compartments on the inside and on the exterior of the truck at the front and back there are multiple larger scene lights that can be used while attached to the truck or removed and powered by a generator on the truck.
