Blacksox 18U Split Friday Games

The Burkburnett Blacksox 18U team played a double-header Friday in brutal heat at Lawton High School, splitting their games.

They beat up on familiar opponent the Oklahoma City Angels in their first game, winning 11-4 for their fourth win over the Angels this year.

But in their second game, played 30 minutes later against the Ardmore (American Legion) Cardinals, they ran out of gas, falling 6-2 after taking a 2-1 lead in the second inning.

Rider's Cameron Allen (RBI groundout in the first) and Kyler Ritchie (RBI single in the second) had the two Blacksox RBIs in the second game.

Later in the day, Allen was named the TSWA Class 4A Player of the Year.

The Blacksox will play Dewey (Okla.) on Saturday at noon at Lawton Eisenhower HS, with a win in that game they would qualify for Sunday's bracket play.
