Car Show Raises Money For Officer Down Memorial

Nearly a hundred cars of all makes and models were on showcase Saturday afternoon at Holiday Inn by the Falls.  From classic to law enforcement vehicles and even fire trucks; there was something to satisfy your sight.  This was the first annual car show brought about by the Wichita County Sheriff's Office Citizens Academy Alumni Association and they count it as a success.

"We're had a great turnout, we've got nearly 90 cars out here today in the heat," said Jeff Coley with the alumni association. "I've been doing car shows in Wichita Falls for 28 years so I got a lot of buddies and its really nice to come out and see the support they give you when you're trying to raise money for a good project like this."

They estimate it raised nearly $3,000 and it's going toward a great cause.  It will help erect a County Officers and Firemen Down Memorial on the courthouse lawn.
