Newschannel Six will be following a meeting closely on Tuesday. That's when the Wichita Falls Independent School District Board will be in a Special Session. On their agenda is establishing a tax rate.
It has been well documented as to the budget struggles and a $4-billion cut in state funds to public schools in Texas. The Board will be discussing the proposed budget and setting a date for a public meeting to discuss that budget and hold a tax hearing. They will also be establishing a tax rate for that hearing. The meeting is set for Tuesday at noon at the WFISD Education Center.
