Archer City
The city of Archer City has declared stage 1 of the drought contingency plan. The city requests all citizens to immediately begin conserving water and adhere to the following water restrictions:
Voluntarily limit the irrigation of landscaped areas with hose-end sprinklers or automatic irrigation systems to:
-Sundays and Thursdays for customers with a street address ending in an even number(0,2,4,6,8).
-Saturdays and Wednesdays for customers with a street address ending in an odd number (1,3,5,7,9).
Bowie
The City of Bowie no longer has any water restrictions.
Byers
Mandatory Water restrictions
Outdoor irrigation only on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday
Absolutely no watering between the hours of 10am and 7pm
Crowell
The city of Crowell has recently implemented their drought contingency plan, level 2, effective immediately. This applies to all customers that use city of Crowell water.
1. Water customers are requested to practice water conservation and minimize water use for non-essential purposes.
2. Use of water from hydrants is limited to firefighting, or other activities essential to safety and welfare. Routine flushing of fire hydrants for other than health and safety reasons is prohibited. This restriction does not apply to businesses which require the use of water for land development and building construction purposes.
3. Irrigation of lawns by hose-end sprinklers/soaker hoses is limited to use between the hours of midnight to 10am and 7pm to midnight on designated watering days.
-homes on north and west sides of street can water on Mon,Wed & Friday.
-homes on south and east sides of street can water on Tues,Thurs, & Sat.
-homes on corners will be determined by which direction the front door faces
-all use of permanent automatic sprinkler systems may occur only between midnight and 10am on designated watering days.
-irrigation by hand held hoses or watering cans is permitted anytime
4. The washing of automobiles, trucks, trailers, boats, airplanes or other vehicles is prohibited except on designated outdoor water use days between midnight & 10am and 7pm to midnight. Washing must be done by hand held hose with shutoff nozzle or hand held bucket.
Use of commercial car washes is permitted.
Charity car washes are prohibited.
Dean-Dale Water District
The Dean Dale Water District has issued mandatory water restrictions. Those who live North of Wichita River are asked to water only Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Those who live South of Wichita River are asked to water Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Dean Dale Water District Officials said absolutely no outside watering between the hours of between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. This is mandatory until further notice.
Graham
The City of Graham has alerted residents about voluntary water restrictions as the city rests in Stage One. Water customers are asked to voluntarily limit the irrigation of landscaped areas on certain days for certain addresses. Those living in even numbered homes are asked to water on Sundays and Thursday, those living in odd numbered homes are asked to water on Wednesday and Saturday, all between the hours of midnight and 10 AM on those designated water days. Water customers are also requested to practice water conservation and to minimize or discontinue water use for nonessential purposes.
Henrietta
Implemented stage 3 drought response to be effective 8/9/11
Residences with odd numbered address may water on odd numbered days vice versa for even.
All outdoor irrigation by hose-end sprinklers, automatic sprinkler system,soaker hoses or drip irrigation may occur between the hours of 12 midnight to 10am and 6pm to midnight on designated outdoor water use day. Irrigation by hand held hoses or hand held buckets is permitted anytime.
Restrictions apply to washing cars and equipment unless it is necessary on a more regular basis to protect health safety or welfare of the public. Charity carwashes are prohibited.
Restrictions apply to filling of pool/hot tubs etc.
King County
The County has issued Stage One in their drought contingency plan.
No outside watering is requested between 9 AM and 7 PM, and only just enough to get vegetation alive. No washing vehicles. Customers with livestock must maintain their float system and keep things in good repair to prevent overflow of water.
Lake Arrowhead
Lake Arrowhead Water System has issued Stage One voluntary water restrictions effective August 11.
Outside watering, utilizing sprinklers, or irrigation systems will only be allowed between 7 p.m. and 9 a.m. Customers with livestock must maintain the float systems in good repair to alleviate any overflow. Swimming pools must also be maintained to reduce evaporation and water loss due to flushing.
All commercial and other known high water users are asked to reduce usage and prevent waste.
Customers are also asked to watch for leaks and notify Authority personnel immediately if one is found.
Nocona
The City of Nocona began restrictions July 1st. The city moved into Stage 3 of Nocona's drought contingency plan on Friday, August 19th, triggered when the water level in Lake Nocona dropped below 822.0 feet mean sea level for 15 consecutive days. This cuts outside landscaping watering to two days a week and restricting times the watering can occur. All mechanical landscape watering prohibited between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. Even addresses limited to Sundays & Thursdays. Odd addresses limited to Saturdays & Wednesdays.
Olney
Stage 2 restrictions
Residents living on even numbered streets can water on even numbered days.. odd numbered streets on odd numbered days.There is no watering between noon and six in the evening.
Petrolia
The city of Petrolia in STAGE 3 - severe water shortage conditions
Requirements for initiation: The Petrolia City Lake reaches 35%
1. All outdoor irrigation of vegetation by hand-held hoses or hand-held watering cans may occur on the following designated schedule:
-Properties with an even-numbered address on Sundays and Thursdays only between the hours of 6am to 10am and 7pm to 10pm.
-Properties with an odd-numbered address on Saturdays and Wednesday only between the hours of 6am to 10am and 7pm to 10pm.
Irrigation, including but nit limited to foundation watering, using permanently installed irrigation systems, hose-end irrigation, or drip irrigation is prohibited
2. No new landscapes of any type may be established.
3. The use of water to wash any motor vehicle, motorbike, boat, trailer, airplane, or other vehicle is absolutely prohibited
4. The filling, refilling or adding of water to swimming, wading and Jacuzzi-type pools is prohibited
5. Watering of livestock is prohibited.
6. The use of water from fire hydrants shall be limited to fire fighting-related activities or other activities necessary to maintain health, safety and welfare. Routine flushing of fore hydrants for other than health and safety reasons is prohibited.
Quanah
Quanah Stage 4 - Mandatory Water rationing
The following water use restrictions are in effect immediately and will remain in effect until further notice.
- Water customers are requested to practice water conservation, and minimize or discontinue water use for non-essential purposes 30% and more.
- If you have a well, you must have a sign in your front yard for notification.
- Watering of lawns or landscape areas is prohibited. You may water shrubs, trees, bushes and flowers with a hand-held hose.
- use of water to wash motor vehicles and mobile equipment can be done with a hand-held hose, equipped with a positive shut-off nozzle for quick rinses. No charity car washes are permitted.
- no filling of swimming pools. The city pool with close Sunday August 14th. Water remaining in the pool, will be used for fire protection.
- Do not wash driveways, sidewalks, and other hard surfaced area. Do not power wash buildings or structures except for fire protection.
- Water from leaks should be notified to the city immediately.-report unauthorized usage of city water to City Hall 940-663-5336
- Watering of Livestock in the city limits must be controlled by a float valve
Throckmorton
Stage 3 - Severe Water Shortage Conditions
35 percent reduction of total water usage.
City still follows Stage 2 Restrictions with the addition of no golf course watering and no fire hydrant use for construction companies.
1. All outdoor irrigation hose-end sprinklers, soaker hoses, or drip irrigation may occur only the hours of 12:00 midnight to 10:00 AM on a designated outdoor water use day, which will be once every five days. All outside irrigation of vegetation by permanently installed automatic irrigation systems may occur only between the hours of 12:00 midnight to 10:00 AM on designated outdoor water use days. Irrigation by hand-held hoses or hand-held buckets is permitted anytime. The time restrictions do not apply to the irrigation of commercial plant nurseries; however, the establishments shall curtail all nonessential water use.
2. The washing of automobiles, trucks, boats, airplanes, or other types of mobile equipment is prohibited except on designated outdoor water use days between the hours of 12:00 midnight to 10:00 AM and 7:00 PM to midnight. The washing, when allowed, must be done with a hand-held bucket or a hand-held hose equipped with a positive shutoff nozzle for quick rinses. The washes of each individual automobile, truck, trailer, boat, airplane, or any other type of mobile equipment in violation of the terms and conditions of this restriction constitutes a separate violation under this article. However, this restriction does not apply to the washing of vehicles or mobile equipment when conducted on the immediate premises of a commercial car wash or a commercial service station. Furthermore, this restriction does not apply to the washing of automobiles, trucks, trailers, boats, airplanes, and other types of mobile equipment when the washing is necessary on a more regular and frequent basis in order to protect the health, safety and welfare of the public. Charity car washes are prohibited.
Stage 3:
Requirements for initiation - Customers shall be required to comply with the requirements and restrictions on certain non-essential water uses for Stage 3 of this Plan when the level of Lake Throckmorton falls to 22% capacity level or 11 feet below emergency spillway elevations.
Requirements for termination - Stage 3 of the Plan may be rescinded when the level of Lake Throckmorton rises to 26% capacity level or 10 feet below the emergency spillway elevation. Upon termination of Stage3, Stage 2 becomes operative.
I noticed under our water restrictions page on our website that Throckmorton is not on there. Tuesday night the city entered into state 3 of its drought contingency plan. If you could update it that would be great. I have the info below and you can just copy and paste it.
Seymour
The city of Seymour is in stage two of water restrictions
- odd/even designated outdoor watering days
- addresses ending in odd numbers Saturday & Wednesday
- addresses ending in even numbers Sunday & Thursday
- washing of cars is prohibited except at commercial car washes
Saint Jo
- No water restrictions as of today. And not selling bulk water.
Vernon

Windthorst
Stage 2 -- Windthorst lifted the 2 days-a-week restriction they had under Stage 3
Wichita Falls

Stage 1: Drought Watch
A Drought Watch will be initiated when:
1) the combined storage of Lakes Kickapoo and Arrowhead decline to 60% of the conservation pool storage capacity or
2) demand exceeds design treatment capacity for 3 consecutive days (or exceeds 105% of design or
3) the water supply is unable to deliver water due to mechanical failure or damage of major water system components which require more than 72 hours to repair when the dry weather conditions exist and continued dry weather is expected over the course of the repair period.
Stage 1 Drought Watch
Actions
1. The City Council and other City departments will be notified of the impending problem and the proposed immediate and future actions.
2. In conjunction with the Public Information Office, initiate an education program through all available media to: A. Alert the public to the depletion of the reservoirs; current rate of withdrawals and the effect of such withdrawals; current meteorological conditions; and long range forecast from the National Weather Service. B. Alert the public to the drought management program, the various stage and measures and the possibility of implementation. C. Keep a constant flow of information tot he public to condition them for more stringent measures.
3. Notify the Parks Department to reduce their watering scheduling to twice per week.
4. Coordinate with other departments on the structure to conduct a voluntary and non voluntary water restriction program.
5. Conduct training necessary to implement the water restriction program
6. Prepare all administrative processes (forms, affidavits, maps, offices, etc.) for the restriction program
Wichita County
Wichita County Water Improvement District No.2 (Irrigation District) in Stage 2 Drought Response Stage
The WCWID No.2 entered Stage 2 (Severe Water Shortage Conditions) of the Irrigation District's drought response stages.
All water use is limited to crop irrigation, livestock water, nursery watering, municipal water and industrial water users under contract.
Water Use Restrictions include:
All water use must be within the boundaries of the Irrigation District.
Home landscape watering will be limited to scheduling once per month, Agricultural crops have precedence.
No water use will be allowed for: recreational uses, construction, mining (oil production including drilling, cementing, tank trucks, fracking, and any other oil production activity).
No land outside the District boundary will be served (annual water service - 5 times tax rate, pumps, etc.).
Lake Wichita diversions (recreational water right) will be limited to 50%.
The District should exercise Permit No. 3598 and 3599 at 20.1 cfs (9.000 gpm) each to supplement irrigation.
