UPDATE: Gun Linked To Multiple Crimes

Demetrick Murray Demetrick Murray

A gun used in several cases is being used to pinpoint a single man to several crimes. Officials say the gun Demetrick Murray used in the July 12th shooting on Pine Street was the same gun used in at least four other incidents across the city of Wichita Falls. Murray was arrested in Houston on a warrant for that Wichita Falls shooting.

25-year-old Demetrick Murray is wanted in connection to the shooting that left victim Jamon Shaw in critical condition. The warrant is listing Aggravated Assault with a $750,000 bond.

A standoff at a Wichita Falls apartment complex, where police believe Murray had barricaded himself, ended shortly after 6 p.m. on July 12, 2011.

Police believed Murray had barricaded himself in a unit at the Ridgeway Apartments. Officers and SWAT busted into the apartment Tuesday evening. Officers told Newschannel 6 they did not find anyone inside.

Police said he is responsible for shooting Jamon Shaw, 24, near the corner of 2nd Street and Pine Street.

Houston Police arrested Murray September 14th on warrant for Aggravated Assault. Two Wichita Falls Police detectives are currently en route to Houston to interview him.

Murray is also connected to previous shooting in Wichita Falls. Murray and two others were accused of firing several shots at a house in the 2700 block of Sherman.

Murray was indicted on a charge of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. He pleaded guilty to the charge. Murray was not charged on Deadly Conduct.
