Burkburnett Improvements Being Made To City Streets

Burkburnett residents could see a change in their daily commute soon.

Mike Whaley, Director of Public Works, confirms there are improvements being made along County Road, part of a street bond approved back in 2006.

A chunk of the most significant work on County Road involves the roadway being completely rebuilt from the ground up from Williams to College Street. The remaining section of County Road to Kramer is also being resurfaced while sidewalks are being installed along County Road.

Officials say the Kramer/CountyAmeron Road intersection is being completely demolished before being rebuilt with concrete to make it a more permanent intersection. Whaley expects work there to last roughly three weeks, hoping for completion before the beginning of the school year.

There will also be some drainage improvements made along the Kramer corridor.

Stay tuned to Newschannel 6 for any new developments on the progress of that construction.

One of the sources to this pilot shortage has been commercial airlines, who are facing their own shortage
