U.S. 81 In Bowie Will Be Closed Again

An overpass in Bowie will be closed again Thursday, July 14, for railroad overpass construction.

Crews are building a shoofly on U.S. 81, between Pelham and Decatur Streets on the east side of the city. That shoofly will be used while the contractor demolishes and rebuilds the existing overpass for BNSF.

The closure is expected to last up to 10 days. Detour signs will be in place to get traffic around the work site.

Construction on the new overpass began last November and should be complete by the end of this year.
