Taylor, Dickinson Lead North Teams to TGCA Wins

Carolyn Taylor of Wichita Falls High School helped the North team to an 80-67 victory in the Texas Girls' Coaches Association 4A-5A All-Star game in Austin.

Taylor scored 10 points while adding six rebounds for the North team, even while matched up against the South's 6-foot-7 Rachel Mitchell, who is committed to Texas A&M University.

Taylor wore #10 instead of her usual #30 in honor of Beverly Larson, whose daughter Lindy played at Rider but was a teammate of Taylor's in club basketball. Larson died on July 3rd after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.

Taylor will play at Howard College next season.

Dickinson Helps North to Small-School Win

Graham's Sadie Dickinson helped the North team to a 48-41 win in the TGCA 1A-2A-3A All-Star game earlier in the evening.

Dickinson, headed to Abilene Christian in the fall, scored six points while pulling down four rebounds for the North, while Katie Brown of Louise HS, committed to Midwestern State, scored two points for the South.
