Late-Night Wreck Leaves Car Twisted Around Light Pole

Wichita Falls Police say they believe water on the road may have been the cause behind a horrific crash that left a Toyota 4-Runner wrapped up tight around a light pole.

The wreck happened just around 11:30 PM Sunday night in the 4400 block of Weeks Park Lane.

Reports show the vehicle was traveling southbound when it suddenly left the roadway and struck the light pole, causing the tail end of the vehicle to flip up several feet from the ground towards the trees.

The driver was taken to the hospital via ambulance.

The official cause of that accident, and the condition of the driver, is unknown at this time.

We've had calls into local authorities and the hospital all day, pressing for answers. Tune in to Newschannel 6 for any new developments in this investigation.
