Blacksox 18U Drops Game 1 at State Tournament

The Burkburnett Blacksox 18U team fell in the first game of the Connie Mack State Tournament Wednesday at Dallas Jesuit Prep.

Burkburnett lost 2-1 to the Dallas Stars, leaving 8 runners on base in the final three innings, including leaving the bases loaded when the game ended.

They'll play an elimination game Thursday at 12:30 p.m. against the DBAT Mustangs-Chapman, who fell 5-0 to Frozen Ropes Wednesday.

In other state tournament action, the Blacksox 15U team will open the Ken Griffey, Jr. State Tournament McKinney North HS at 3 p.m. against DBAT Mustangs-Phillips, who beat Frozen Ropes-Rose 3-2 Wednesday.

And the Blacksox 16U's will open the Mickey Mantle State Tournament at McKinney's Al Alford Field at 12:30 p.m. against the McKinney Mavericks, who beat TX Spikes 16-0 Wednesday.
