Okla. Woman Arrested After Daughter Found In Closet

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - A woman faces a child neglect complaint after police discovered an emaciated five-year-old girl being forced to live in a closet in the woman's home.

An Oklahoma City police report says the woman was arrested Monday and booked into the Oklahoma County Jail. She was released on a $20,000 bond.

The report says the girl's arms and legs were very thin, the bones in her joints were visible and she had very little muscle tissue on her bones.

The report says the closet where the girl was kept smelled of urine and feces. She was taken to a hospital and weighed just 19.8 pounds.

Five other children in the house were taken into protective custody. Court records didn't indicate whether the woman has an attorney. She couldn't be reached for comment.
