Man Charged with Assault/Family Violence

A Wichita Falls man is behind bars on a $5,000 bond after officials say he tried to kill his girlfriend.   According to a police affidavit, 38-year-old Blake Keith Branham choked his girlfriend and held his hand over her mouth in an attempt to stop her from breathing.  Police say it occurred on July 15.  The girlfriend approached an officer at a Shell Gas Station in distress after running away from Branham.  The officer reported she had visible signs of scratches and bruises.  Branham was charged with assault of family violence.
