Green Belt Water Reservoir Now Under Stricter Water Restrictions

Three Texoma cities are now under stricter water conservation measures.

Green Belt Water Reservoir is now under stage 3 drought contingency plan, a mandatory water restriction. Green Belt officials say the reservoir is suffering from severe water shortage.

Green Belt Water Reservoir serves Crowell, Childress and Quanah. Crowell and Childress have done away with adding water to swimming pools. We're still waiting to hear from Quanah on what their restrictions will be.

Green Belt officials say they could possibly enter into stage 4, which would mean no non-essential water usage.

They say they'll look for other sources of water and will know in the next couple of weeks if they will enter into stage 4.
