Shavodrick Beaver to Transfer to MSU

Former Rider High School standout Shavodrick Beaver will transfer from the University of Tulsa to Midwestern State, Tulsa coach Bill Blankenship told the Associated Press.

Because Beaver was going to take an academic redshirt this fall at Tulsa, it appears he will not be eligible to play this year at MSU.

Beaver played 15 games at Tulsa over two seasons, passing for 68 yards and running for 165 with a touchdown on the ground.

He joined Tulsa in January 2009 after initially committing to Michigan.

He passed for over 9,000 yards and 125 touchdowns, while running for over 2,400 yards and 22 touchdowns in four years at Rider, despite a senior year injury that limited him to just four games.

Newschannel 6 will have more on this story as it develops.
