Fire Engine Involved In Crash

Three people were hurt Friday in an accident involving a pick-up and a fire engine.

The crash happened after 11 a.m. in the 2100 block of Seymour Highway.

Officials said the driver in the pick-up was traveling behind the fire engine. They said as the driver in the fire engine started to turn right onto Van Buren the driver in the pick-up tried to get into the left lane to avoid hitting the fire engine. Officials said that's when the pick-up's right front struck the engine's left rear.

The driver in the fire engine was taken to 11th Street with an injured wrist. The driver and passenger in the pick-up were also taken to the hospital. Their injuries were not released, but officials said no one appeared to have life-threatening injuries.
