Changes To Courthouse Construction Time Could Cost County Money

Wichita County Commissioners are approving new time changes to construction on the county courthouse, which could cost the county more than $100,000.

Commissioners met Monday morning in a special session to discuss the evening time changes, stemming from complaints about construction noise interrupting daily business on the 2nd floor of the courthouse.

Contractors have had to stop work on the 2nd floor, delaying progress. The changes to work time will tack on an extra 30 days to the project's work load. The change will go into effect next week, and will push back the completion date to late February 2012.
