Wichita Co. Commissioners Approve Power Line Movement By SAFB

Wichita County Commissioners met Monday morning to approve support for the movement by Oncor of a high-powered transmission line, just North of Sheppard Air Force Base.

The county will officially join the City of Wichita Falls, Burkburnett and SAFB in the project.

Commissioners also approved changes to an early voting precinct location for November 2011 elections. The location was moved from the Little Red School House on N. Avenue B in Burkburnett to the Old Burk City Hall.

An alternative representative was also appointed to represent precinct 4 on the redistricting committee.

Commissioners also discussed comments from the public on the proposed 2.5 cent property tax increase. A public hearing is also scheduled for this Tuesday at 7 p.m. to further discuss that proposed tax rate increase.

Public is encouraged to attend the meeting being held at the Wichita County courthouse.
