Man Accused of Attacking Officers Scheduled for Trial

29-year-old Ronnie Otems is scheduled to appear in the 89th District Court in Wichita County, accused of attacking two correctional officers while trying to escape from jail.

Otems has been charged with five counts, one for assault on a public servant, four more for retaliation.

Wichita County reports say Otems tried to break loose from the county jail in September 2009, where he attacked the officers on his way out.
