Abandoned Puppies Tossed In Another Man's Yard

The Wichita County Sheriff's Office is searching for a driver who tossed a basket of 5-week old puppies into another man's backyard.

Dogman Training Co. owner Eamon Riley contacted Newschannel 6 Thursday morning, saying someone had thrown the basket filled with the animals into his yard next to his kennels in the 1400 block of Rathgeber Rd.

Riley tells us he contacted authorities, who are now checking the basket for prints. They say this is a Class A misdemeanor. If you have any information about this offense, you're asked to contact Wichita County Deputies immediately.

When we sat down with Riley and the pups, he told us, "These are maybe five weeks old, these puppies would have died. These puppies didn't stand a chance." Riley continued on how appalled he is that this could happen during the heat of the day, claiming "the base root for the word 'humane' is 'human,' and this is not a very humane thing to do."

There are eight puppies, all labs, believed to be from the same mother. Their shots have been started, and they have been de-wormed. They are also eating solid foods.

If you're interested in adopting the puppies, you can call 767-7829. They should be ready in about a week.
