SAFB Commissary Giving Back With "Feds Feed Families"

There is a food drive going on at Sheppard AFB. The Commissary is taking part in the 2011 "Feds Feed Families" food drive.

The campaign is part of the Serve America Act. The campaign maintains the belief that Americans who help their communities are also helping the nation's economic recovery.

Food items that are given to the commissary will be picked up in bins located at the entrance and exit of the commissary. There are two organizations the commissary are going to concentrate on giving to. Those two organization are the Airmen and Family Readiness center, which gives food to the needy families of young Airmen on base, and also the Wichita Falls Area Food Bank.

The food drive will end August 31st.
