WFPD Officers Honored In Special Award Ceremony

Members of Wichita Falls' finest were honored today.

Officers with the Wichita Falls Police Department were recognized in a special awards ceremony this morning.

Two officers were honored with a life-saving bar for their actions in the field. One officer was also promoted to sergeant.

The ceremony began at 10 AM in the Training Center on Flood St.

    Texas Highway Patrol officers are prepared for a busy weekend. Last year there was over 1000 tickets given for seat belt violations and 400 DWI arrests. Sergeant Dan Buesing said more traffic is usually coupled with more accidents.
