Adoption Open House Set For Those Interested In Abandoned Puppies

The driver accused of tossing a basket of puppies into another man's yard will not be prosecuted at this time.

"Dog Man" Eamon Riley tells Newschannel 6 that the Wichita County Sheriff's Office is not taking legal action against the driver, believing he was hoping the five-week old lab puppies would be taken care of last Thursday after they were left in Riley's backyard, stocked with kennels.

There will be an open house Saturday morning at 10 for potential dog owners interested in adopting the pups. There will be an adoption fee as Riley has already paid for their shots and food. There will also be a screening process for those interested.

Out of the eight abandoned, five are left for adoption. The open house will be held in the 1400 block of Rathgeber Road, and will last until noon.
