MSU's Amini Silatolu Earns Another Preseason Honor

Midwestern State offensive tackle Amini Silatolu was named to the Preseason All-America first-team that was released Monday by the web site.

Silatolu, the 6-3, 230 pound senior left tackle from Tracy, Calif., is a unanimous first-team selection for preseason All-America honors, previously named to preseason teams by Lindy's Magazine, The Sporting News and Collegiate Draft Services.
Silatolu earned first-team honors in 2010 from the American Football Coaches Association and, while picking up second-team nods from the Associated Press and Daktronics on his way to becoming the most decorated offensive lineman for MSU in a single season.
The first MSU player to earn Lone Star Conference Offensive Lineman of the Year, he anchored the unit that paved the way for the Mustangs to lead the LSC and rank 15th nationally with 212.75 yards a game in 2010.
Silatolu joins four other LSC players on team. Abilene Christian quarterback Mitchell Gale and defensive end Aston Whiteside, along with West Texas A&M receiver Brittan Golden were selected to the first-team. Texas A&M-Kingsville nose tackle Johnny Tivao was placed on the second-team.
The Mustangs open the 2011 season on Saturday, Sept. 10 in Rolla, Mo., against Missouri S&T.
