OK Fugitive Nabbed Near Houston

An Oklahoma fugitive was nabbed near Houston Thursday morning.

Deputies in Fort Bend County were tipped off to the whereabouts of Charles Alan Dyer on a call of suspicious person near Richmond. Deputies questioned Dyer, who first gave a fake name before admitting who he was. The Sheriff's Office reports the fingerprint check confirmed the suspect was Dyer.

Dyer was set for trial in Stephens County on child sex abuse charges on August 15, but failed to show up, alerting authorities to search for him.

Authorities are turning Dyer over to the FBI, who have been also pursuing him on a charge of unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.
