Man Sentenced For Stealing Hundreds of Cattle

A Texas man has been sentenced to serve 99 years in prison for stealing cattle.

A Hardeman County judge sentenced Carl Curry, 44, of Athens, Wednesday evening.

Curry was charged for stealing more than 400 head of cattle from someone else in Mississippi in February of 2010.

The jury reached a guilty verdict after only fifteen minutes of deliberations and the 99 year sentence was agreed upon after only ten minutes.

The judge ordered the sentence to run consecutively with a 20 year sentence that Curry received in Smith County in April for a separate cattle theft.
