Sheppard Airmen & Women Cheer on Riders

Cheering the riders along the way were our airmen and women of Sheppard Air Force Base. To kick off the big event Brigadier General Darryl Burke fired the cannon off to start the race and immediately afterward aircraft hit the sky for a breathtaking flyover. The airmen didn't leave after that, they stayed and cheered on the riders.

"Sheppard takes on community efforts and this is just one more way we're trying to help out," said Major Melissa Pamper. Cyclists passed through the base for the competition, riding between training aircraft. Those who cheered on the riders say they were happy to be a part of something so special.
