Mad Hatter Tea Party Raises Awareness about Disease

A Mad Hatter Tea Party at the Clay County Senior Citizens Center brought to life an important and not so very well known disease, Pulmonary Fibrosis. Everyone in attendance dressed up as their favorite Alice in Wonderland character and enjoyed food and games. Though no one there has the disease, they just want people to be informed and support its cause. Last year the mad hatters raised $2,000 to provide life-sustaining oxygen to two patients for an entire year.

"We're just here to raise money to treat those with Pulmonary Fibrosis and to just really raise awareness so everyone knows exactly what it is." The disease causes lung tissue scarring. There is no cure and it affects nearly $200,000 Americans and kills $40,000 every year.
