I-40 Construction To Affect Traffic In Okla. City

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The Oklahoma Department of Transportation says construction work on the Interstate 40 Crosstown bridge in Oklahoma City will affect traffic for the next several weeks.

O-DOT says there will be various lanes closed between 8 p.m. Sunday and 5 a.m. Monday on eastbound I-40 at the I-35/I-235 interchange.

Starting at 5 a.m. Monday - eastbound I-40 will be narrowed to two lanes and there will be short-term exit ramp closures from eastbound I-40 to I-35 and I-235. The right lane of I-40 will be an exit-only lane for southbound I-35 and drivers needed to exit onto northbound I-235 must be in the left lane.

The work is expected to continue through mid-September as part of a project to relocate I-40 through Oklahoma City.
