Millions Approved For W.F. Municipal Airport, New Route To MSU

Wichita Falls Municipal Airport is getting millions of dollars toward phase two of the reconstruction project. Wichita Falls councilors approved $5.5 million Tuesday morning. The funds will come from the FAA for runway work. The project will start after the Sheppard Air Force Base air show in October. No general fund tax dollars are being used for this project.

Council members also approved a public transit route to and from MSU.  This will cost $36,886.88 for the first year.  The route will be the largest in the system, extending service until 10 p.m. for students who are studying late.  It will also be open to university employees.
