All 12 volunteer fire departments in Clay County got checks Tuesday night to help them recover from this wildfire season.
The Texas Farm Bureau gave each department a check for over $1,000.
it won't buy a new truck but it will make a big difference to the departments who have been so heavily relied upon this fire season.
"This donation means lots of help in way of equipment failures and tires and such things," said Joy Volunteer Fire Department Chief Clay Skelton. "We've gone through 18 tires since January 1st."
Clay County has been one of the hardest hit areas in Texoma this fire season. From large fires, to small ones, to helping neighboring counties they have been there this year.
