Wildcats to Host Tornado in Exhibition

Hockey returns to the Kay Yeager Coliseum Thursday night as the Wichita Falls Wildcats hit the ice for an exhibition game.

It will be our first look at new coach Paul Baxter behind the Wildcats' bench, and his new team on the ice.

They'll take on their old rivals the Texas Tornado at 7:05 p.m.

Texas is a replacement for the Texas Jr. Brahmas after the Jr. Brahmas' league, the Western States Hockey League, changed levels from USA Hockey Tier III to AAU, which made them ineligible to play an NAHL team.

Coach Baxter told Newschannel 6 that playing a team like the Tornado is a good opportunity for his team.

Tickets to the game are $7, or $5 with a non-perishable canned food donation at the door.

You can reach the Wildcats' ticket office at 716-5587 to buy tickets over the phone.
