New Speed Limits North of Bowie and South of Montague

Drivers heading on highway 59 will soon see new speed limits.

The speed limits have dropped North of Bowie and will be soon South of Montague.

TxDot determined that the 55 mph speed limit already in place on SH-59 on the outskirts of the two towns needed to be extended a short distance.

The new speed signs are already in place North of Bowie, advising motorists of the 55 mph for 2/10 of a mile North of FM 1758.

Signs have been ordered and will be installed soon South of Montague. The 55 mph limit will be extended South of FM 455 for about 1/2 mile.
