Enrollment Declines At Midwestern State University

Enrollment at Midwestern State University has declined.
MSU released its 2011 fall enrollment figures at 6,182 students, a decline of -3.80 percent.
Administrators had previously predicted a decrease in enrollment as a result of new admission standards that were implemented this fall.
"The decline in enrollment comes as no surprise, especially as the numbers reflect the largest decline in our freshman class," said Dr. Robert Clark, Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness.

MSU last adjusted its admission standards in 2006, and the university experienced a similar decline of -3.76 percent.
Enrollment rebounded in fall 2008 and 2009, and  reached the second-highest record last fall with 6,426 students.
