Kamay's Cross Road Church Going Green

The cross road church in Kamay is going green.

Church officials celebrated the installation of 120 solar panels on the exterior of the church. The panels come with the hope they will soon become energy independent and actually make money by generating more energy than they will need to operate the church.

Pastor Michael Strahan is happy about saving energy. "It's a blessing on every level. Our electricity bills come down. Matter of fact the electricity company will be paying us for the electricity, it goes back into the grid, we're in a win-win here."

Church officials say on a sunny day the church will generate a third more energy than they will require.
