Clay County Pioneers Celebrate

Clay County pioneers gathered together to celebrate their residency in the county. All registered pioneers are at least 60-years-young and were born in the county and lived there for a total of 30 years at any time. They were honored Saturday with a float parade, lunch and entertainment.

"This is a thrill to think we have been here this long, in Clay County especially," said Pioneer Cecil Allene Schaffner. The couple have been married for more than 65 years.
