Wichita Falls City Budget Approved

Wichita Falls City Council approved their 2012 budget Tuesday.

The new budget increases 2011's budget by 2.9%, but the property tax rate, water rate and sewer rates will remain the same.

Councilors also voted to increase the wholesale cost of water for everyone who buys water from the city by 10%.

The city will also increase the sanitation collection rate by 4.7% to offset rising fuel costs.

Councilors also increased 'pay plans' for all city positions in April only if revenue hits 1% growth.

The budget begins October 1, 2011 and ends on September 30, 2012.
