Oct: Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Wilbarger General Hospital is speaking out about ways women can help prevent the disease.

1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with Breast Cancer. It is second most deadly cancer among women in the United States.

Early detection is the leading way of preventing death. Melanie Milner, RN, says women should get a baseline mammogram between 35-40 years of age. After age 40, women should get a yearly mammogram.
