Texoma Mother Arrested For Leaving Young Children Home Alone

A Texoma mother is behind bars accused of leaving her young children home alone.

Wichita Falls Police Officers were sent to the 4000 block of Prince Edward On August 28, to check on the welfare of some young children.

Upon arrival, the officer said he found three children inside, ages 6, 5, and 3.
The officer said inside he found a pill bottle on the kitchen counter with a warning label to "keep out of reach of children."  He also said the house was hot, with no air conditioning.

Police say about ten minutes later, the 31 year old mother, Amaka Ezigbo, arrived, and stated she left the house for just a few minutes and was in the back alley. She claimed the kids were sleeping. All three told the officer they were awake, and that Ezigbo had left the oldest child in charge.

The officer then went outside and talked to the reporting party who said they had been at the house for about an hour before they called police.

Ezigbo was charged for Abandoning/Endangering a Child.
