The future of the Petrolia Independent School District is on the minds of school leaders.
Voters recently shot down a proposed tax increase for the ISD.
Superintendent Derrith Welch told Newschannel 6 they will continue making budget cuts. Welch says the ISD is facing a $300,000 deficit.
He says he's not concerned right now of a possible shutdown, but says within three years the school district might have to start looking at other alternatives.
