Texomans Learn More On Wichita Co. Community Service Programs

Those wanting to learn more about community service programs in Wichita County got that chance on Wednesday.

The Wichita County Sheriff's Office took part in a luncheon, to teach people about programs the office has available to the public.
Deputy Melvin Joyner explained the 14-week Citizen's Academy and how it gives participants the chance to view the inner-workings of the Wichita County Sheriff's Office.
Deputy Joyner also explained the Chaplains Program that includes 17 ordained ministers.  He says they are also working to develop even more projects, all in an effort to bridge the gap between the office and citizens.
