UPDATE: Thirty-five People Apply For Graham ISD Superintendent Job

The search for a Graham Independent School District superintendent continues.

The application deadline to replace Dr. Reagan Carter (beau) Rees closed Friday. Jennie Preston of the district's search firm, says 35 people applied for the job.

Preston says her firm, Horn, Smith, Wood, and Preston, will meet before Graham ISD" board on January 4th. During the meeting, the 35 people who applied, will be reduced by the board to four to six applicants for the interview stage.

Dr. Reagan Carter (Beau) Rees has been chosen to be Montgomery ISD's new superintendent. Dr. Rees has been Graham's superintendent for the last 8 years.

He has experience as a classroom teacher, assistant principal, elementary principal, high school principal and curriculum director.

Dr. Rees said, "I am honored by the opportunity to serve in Montgomery. I look forward to working in the district and raising my family in the community."

His tentative start day at Montgomery ISD will be January 2, 2012.
